This weekend we did meet the grandson of the Italian cartoonist Giuseppi Scalarini (1873-1948). After a first meeting in Brussels yesterday, the whole family came to the European Cartoon Center this morning. It was great to hear the stories of Nando about his grandfather, stories about a great cartoonist, who was condemned several times for his critical works and finally was forced to stop drawing political cartoons by the government.
