On the 12th of April two new exhibitions were inaugurated in the European Cartoon Center.
As Kruishoutem is THE European town of Eggs, it was great to host the 2013 cartoon competition of Vianden with the topic ‘The Egg’. You can read more about the contest in a previous blog.
The secund exhibition was with work of the Italian Marco d’Agostino: cartoons and caricatures. Marco did not have any education in drawing or any other art discipline, but he has a uncle that learned him to develop his artistic talents. Drawing cartoons is not so easy for Marco, getting a great idea is not that simpel, that’s way he focusses on caricatures. Not simple caricatures, because you find plenty of subtile and funny details in the caricatures of d’Agostino.
It was a great evening and a special weekend for the ECC-members because Marco’s whole family (mama, brother and sister, nices, uncle and aunty) came to visit the exhibition and Belgian. Once again it was a great ECC-family experience for all of us.
