Last Friday we went to the opening ceremony of the exhibition of Mihail Ignat in Boechout.
As Ignat did win the edition 2011 of the George van Raemdonckkartoenale he was honored with a Personel exhibition in Boechout.
Ignat was born in Ploiesti, Roemenië in 1954, where he is still living. He’s working there as a freelance cartoonist and made his cartooning debut in 1987 in Gabrovo. Since then he did win more then 100 prizes all over the world.
President of the organizing committee IHA (international humor in art), Tom, did introduce the artist and his splendid work.
What followed was a great evening, with food and drinks and in the company of some Belgian cartoonists as Jan Dufour, Herbert Vanoystaeyen, Paulo, Chris Joole, etc.
It was also a nice gathering with Ella and her husband, from Satyrycon, who came to Boechout for the jury meeting of the George Van Raemdonck kartoenale that will be inaugurated on the 3th of Octobre.
Thanks to Ronald for the pics
